Liquid applied waterproofing
– the flexible solution
By definition, cold liquid-applied waterproofing consists of single-component or multi-component materials which are applied in liquid form on site and react to form a functional waterproof seal. Over the last two decades, the development has achieved a high-quality standard and a very broad range of applications: from flat roofs and balconies, to some buried foundation areas such as stadiums, bridge construction and parking deck construction, to the construction of water structures and industrial tank reservoirs. Liquid applied waterproofing particularly demonstrates its strengths in complicated penetrations areas as well as junction details interfacing on any kind of surface or to other components and offers a very wide spectrum of application possibilities.
The choice of the right material as well as the individual solution and processing form the basis its success. It doesn’t matter whether it is a new build or refurbishment. Architects and planners, building contractors, and facility managers and property owners: they are all only too familiar with the problem of leaking surfaces in outdoor areas. Indeed, the successful waterproofing and damp-proofing of buildings is one of the fundamental challenges in architecture. Liquid- applied waterproofing systems from Triflex are a reliable, long-lasting solution.
Cold liquid-applied waterproofing is the fastest growing market for the waterproofing and surfacing of roofs, parking decks, walkways, balconies and terraces due to their advantages over traditional and hot applied materials. However, not all not all liquid-applied resins are the same.
Triflex PMMA-based, (or Polymethyl Methacrylate) systems has an exceptionally rapid curing times and is weather-independent. A unique property which cannot be matched by any other hand-applied waterproofing resin..
They are extremely easy to use: the multiple-component materials are liquid-applied wet-on-wet with a brush or roller. They cure by chemical cross-linking. For full-surface refurbishments, Triflex cold liquid-applied waterproofing can be combined with most waterproofing sheet membranes.
Triflex products are based on various reactive liquid polymer:
PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate resin)
PU (polyurethane resin)
EP (epoxy resin)
With Triflex PMMA systems you even have the benefit that your waterproofing project can be installed all year round. All you need is a weather window of just a few hours without rain, rather than an entire day or more, ensuring your effective waterproofing for you and minimal interrupted usage of the area for your clients.
Particularly, in the Asia Pacific region accessible roof terraces, balconies and walkways face great demands everyday due to weather conditions and mechanical loads. Door and window details , penetrations such as railings and interfacing are particularly susceptible. Moisture penetration, concrete, tilling delamination and corrosion of reinforcements can cause permanent damage and impact the strength of the building.
Triflex waterproofing and coating systems offer a solution to handle even the most demanding challenges with ease. High-quality products backed by our in-house R&D facility, a technology training centre and 40 years of experience paired with comprehensive expert services make Triflex the partner to turn to when it comes to long lasting and reliable waterproofing systems.
Liquid waterproofing made of PMMA
Many advantages at once
Liquid cold application; This allows complex details to be sealed efficiently and seamlessly (typical limits of prefabricated seals)
Firmly anchored to the ground. In the event of a lesion of the impermeable layer, the water cannot disperse underneath, so any potential leakage is limited and can be easily repaired
Exceptional performance. The fleece-reinforced PMMA layer is particularly elastic and bridges cracks even at extreme temperatures (-30 Degree Celcius /+90 Degree Celcius)
Ability to seal visible, walkable or drivable surfaces with UV resistance and aesthetic appearance
Waterproofing without erosion. This solution allows waterproofing directly on the old covering of balconies, terraces and parking areas, thus enabling saving in costs, effort and environmental impact
Rapid application. The PMMA catalyzes and hardens a few minutes after mixing; this enables particularly fast and effortless application in the renovation of occupied buildings
Maximum certification (ETAG 005); Shelf life of at leas 25 years
Root and rhizome strength; Typical problem in the waterproofing of green roofs
Certified in the highest performance categories: Confirmed technical and legal security, field-proven solutions
Numerous systems, finishes and colour variants: Unique designs and solutions; Implementation of highly functional solutions
Durable protection of the structures against moisture: Longer maintenance intervals and a significant increase in the value of the property
Impermeable after 30 minutes, complete protection after 45 minutes: Rapid implementation of projects, short blocking periods
Resistant to severe weather, UV radiation and hydrolysis: Attractive and durable functional solutions
